A large plane sheet of charge having surface charge . . .

Question : A large plane sheet of charge having surface charge density 5×10^-16 C/m² lies in the XY plane. Find the electric flux through a circular area of radius 0.1 m if the normal to the circular area makes an angle of 60°with the z-axis.

Solution :
Surface charge density (σ) = 5×10-16 C/m²
radius of the circular surface (r) = 0.1 m
Angle between the direction of Electric Field and Normal to the plane (θ)=60°

Electric Field due to the plane Sheet (E) = σ/2ε
Area of the circular plane (A) = πr²

Electric flux through the circular plane (ΦE)
 = EAcosθ
 = (σ/2ε₀)(πr²)cos60°
 = [5×10-16/(2×8.85×10-12)][3.14(0.1)²][1/2]
= 4.435×10^-7 Nm²/C
